The warm up matches before the world cup 2011 has started from today. The first match is continuing between Sri Lanka and Netherlands. Sri Lanka is also hosting the world cup 2011 and is one of the favorites to win the world cup 2011. Sri Lankan team is well I form and they just won the series against the West Indies team 2-0 in the start of the current month.
Sri Lanka won the toss and they elected to bat first to test the batting skills. The batsmen plaued well and openers provided 117 runs opening start to the team.TM Dilshan, TT Samaraweera, LPC Silva and CK Kapugedera scored half centuries for Sri Lankan team. They scored 78, 60, 54 and 50 respectively.
The great batting from Sri Lankan batsmen took the team total to 351 runs. They just lost 5 wickets. All batsmen contributed to the team’s total. Jayawardene and Sangakkara the main batsmen didn’t bat in the inning. The score showed who much in form the Sri Lankan team is. They were the first to announce the final 15 for the world cup. Netherlands team now gets 352 runs total to chase and it will be nearly impossible for them to chase such a big total.
