MusicBrainz Picard is a powerful tool that can automatically add ID3 tags to music files by referring it against its own music database. It claims to be the next generation audio tagging app, that lets you tag huge music archive in a snap. It can scan files for Audio Fingerprints a.k.a PUIDs (Portable Unique IDentifier) in order to search and replace existing tag information with correct ones. Isn’t it a great tool?

MusicBrainz Picard has a CD Lookup feature to extract information from optical music discs. You can use the Lookup function to look for the meta tags of selected music file from MusicBrainz page. To get started, either add a music folder or manually select music files from different locations. Then view current tag information on the left side, by selecting the track. You’ll find two panes in the main interface, which allows you to view your music tracks with current tags, and albums with suggested tag information.

Then it will store that information with your original music files. You can permanently fix file name, and add album, artist, and other information to your songs with few clicks. MusicBrainz Picard is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux OS platforms.
