They found Stevenson, who does not live there, and he did not appear to know where he was. He was given a field sobriety test, and based on the test, his statements and police observations, he was arrested for public intoxication.
Stevenson, 30, did not resist arrest and posted bail of $475 about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was arrested because police believe Stevenson "was a danger to himself and others," Irving public information officer John Argumaniz said.
"Basically, he was intoxicated to a point where [police] didn't feel comfortable letting him walk away or leave. They didn't have any other options at that point," Argumaniz said.
After the Mavs won their first NBA championship Sunday, Stevenson had been vocal in his criticism of the Miami Heat, particularly LeBron James, calling the team "classless."
Stevenson had nine points in the title-clinching sixth game.
The Mavericks said they were not aware of the incident and declined comment.

Of course, Lebron is probably laughing his ass off about this situation. I am not on either Deshawn or Lebron James side. I just find it funny how Deshawn can talk shit about Lebron James when they are both guilty of being "Classless" and some what arrogant at times. I must add there is never a dull moment in sports.
